Greg Sheridan
Greg is a geophysicist and geoscientist with over 16 years' experience in the upstream oil and gas industry. A proven trouble-shooter and problem solver that will make sure the job gets done right - regardless of what needs doing. Based in Dallas, TX, and available for remote work or on location as needed.
Greg's work history includes extensive experience across the upstream sector - from Development and Appraisal to Exploration and New Ventures - in addition to managing multiple seismic acquisition and processing programs globally. Greg brings a keen eye and results-oriented perspective to any project by quickly identifying key components of petroleum systems and interpretations, streamlining workflows, identifying what needs to be done, and establishing the vision and strategy necessary to follow through. Greg has significant experience guiding multi-disciplinary and multi-national teams through all aspects of project execution while ensuring high technical standards are met.
After attaining a B.S. in Geophysical Engineering and M.S. in Geoscience at Montana Tech, Greg began his career with 10 years at Occidental Oil & Gas, working on projects across the continental United States and Middle East. Greg was a project geophysicist for over 300 development wells, including fields under primary recovery, waterflood, steamflood, and EOR. Areas worked include the Hugoton field in Kansas, Piceance Basin in Colorado, San Joaquin Basin in California, Delaware Basin and Central Basin Platform in the Permian, Oman, and Libya. Greg interpreted dozens of 3D seismic datasets spanning thousands of square miles during this time, and spent about 3.5 years living in the Middle East.
Following his time at Oxy, Greg joined Hunt Petroleum where he focused on Exploration and New Ventures in multiple basins and countries internationally. Key work areas included Tunisia, Morocco, Colombia, and Peru. Working with sparse 2D datasets and often little well control, Greg has interpreted thousands of line miles of 2D seismic, built and optimized databases and workflows, established multiple actionable country-entry opportunities, and provided reliable technical recommendations in multiple exploration permits.
Greg's seismic acquisition experience includes managing vibroseis 3D programs in Argentina, 2D and 3D dynamite surveys in Utah, a 40-well vibroseis 3D VSP program in Oman, and providing technical expertise to 2D explosive and vibrator sourced acquisition in Tunisia.
Additionally, Greg has managed multiple 2D and 3D seismic processing and reprocessing projects throughout his career in areas both domestic and international.
Wherever you're working and whatever you need - any play type, basin history, lithology, location, development status, or project status - Greg has the tools and insight to provide you with the highest quality geophysical results and recommendations for optimal decision-making.
